Description

This workshop supports people leaders in building awareness of the effects of ableism in the workplace: stigma, exclusion and discrimination against people with disabilities.

Through interactive learning activities, people leaders will explore barriers in the workplace and actions they can take to foster an inclusive environment for team members with disabilities.

This workshop was designed in accordance with the Accessibility Canada Act mandate.

Availability

All of our Learning programs are available in English and French. Local languages may be available for an additional fee.

Objectives

Through this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand general information about disability and the potential of disabled team members
  • Demonstrate how definitions of disability impact outcomes
  • Be a supportive leader for disabled team members in your work environment, including when posting jobs, hiring, accommodating individuals, and retention
  • Collaboratively work with teams to become more inclusive
  • Incorporate strategies for allyship and leading with inclusion
