Parents and carers can experience challenging behaviours at all stages of their children’s development – however, generally none are as difficult to navigate as the teen years. Working parents raising one or more pre-teens or teenagers often experience argumentative, volatile and sometimes even downright disrespectful behaviour.
According to brain researchers, this volatility is a normal part of adolescence, however, when working parents and carers don’t have the understanding, tools and strategies to help their children navigate this period successfully – it can be stressful and have a negative spillover effect in the workplace.
Resourcing employees with caring responsibilities to navigate the teen years more confidently will help them to succeed at home so they can be more focussed and productive at work. Workplace programs that support working parents and their families to thrive, nurture a family-friendly workplace culture.
Designed for working parents and carers raising children aged pre-teen and teenager.
