Description

This session has been designed for fathers to support father engagement and fathering. It can be run as part of a workplace wellbeing calendar to support and celebrate fathers on Father’s Day, Men’s Mental and Physical Health, Movember or at any time during the year! Of course, mothers, grandparents and carers are welcome to join the session!

We all know that managing work and family can be challenging, which may leave little time for fathering. However, the research evidence is clear – there are numerous benefits for dads, their children, partners and the whole family when fathers, stepfathers and other male role models are positively engaged with their children and in family life. We also know from statistics that mothers tend to take the larger share of childcare and unpaid work in the home.

When organisations resource their working fathers to be more involved in their children’s lives, they support employee mental and physical health, relationship wellbeing and family wellbeing. When employees succeed at home they are more focussed and productive at work. Workplace programs that support working parents and their families to thrive, nurture a family-friendly workplace culture.

Designed for working parents and carers raising children aged toddler to teenager.
