Program Structure

The BRAVE Leadership program is delivered in two parts. The first part includes three instructor-led classroom modules. The second part is self-led online and includes an eLearning review program, action plan and exam.

You will receive information from your organizational contact to register for your virtual classroom sessions or details on where your in-person sessions will take place.

Materials: There is a corresponding participant guide (PG) for each classroom module. You will need these for the session and the PG also serves as a take-away for you.

Part 2: Self-led online component

Within 2-3 business days of successfully completing all three instructor-led classroom modules, you will be registered in our TELUS Health Learning Management System (LMS).  Once your profile is created, you will receive an email from elearningsupport@elearning.telushealth.com with instructions on how to login into your self-led online component. Check your spam folder if your email is not received!  Upon login, please remember to record the password you create for future use.

Requirements for certification

This program includes a professional development certificate recognized by Queen’s University. In order to earn your certificate:

  • You must complete all three instructor-led classroom modules, missing no more than 30 minutes of a classroom session. If you miss more than 30 minutes of a module, you will be required to make it up before moving forward in the program.
  • You must complete all the self-led online components.
  • You must earn a grade of 75% on the exam within three attempts.

 

Once you complete all steps successfully, your certificate will be available for download.


FAQs

  1. Can I miss an instructor-led classroom session and skip to the next one?

No, classroom sessions must be fully completed in order, as each session builds on the next. If you miss an instructor-led classroom session, talk to your organizational contact about scheduling a make-up.

  1. How long does it take to complete the self-led online component?

Self-guided learning duration can vary depending on the individual learner. We estimate the time as follows:

  • eLearning – Approx. 60 min
  • Action plan – Approx. 30 – 45 min in total
  • Exam – 20 to 30 minutes per attempt
  • Surveys – 15 min in total
  1. Do I have to finish the entire online component at the same time?

No, you can log in and out of the online portion at your convenience. If you prefer to complete it all in one sitting, we recommend blocking a half-day to work through all the components at your leisure.

  1. How long do I have to complete the self-led online component after finishing the instructor-led classroom sessions?

We recommend completing your self-led online component within 1 month of completing your instructor-led classroom sessions. However, you will have access to the online component for up to 3 months.

  1. What is the exam like?

The exam consists of 20 multiple response questions drawn from a rotating bank of 30 questions from the course material. When you answer a question, you will be able to see whether your response was correct or incorrect.

  1. What happens if I fail the exam?

You have three attempts to pass the exam by scoring 75% or higher. If you fail the third attempt, access to your profile on the LMS will be disabled. Your organizational contact can discuss additional attempts with our learning consultants.

  1. I don’t have my instructor-led classroom session information. Who can I contact?

Reach out to your organizational contact who booked and organized this program with our TELUS Health Learning team.  

  1. I can’t seem to log in or locate the online portion. Who can I contact?

  1. I use a screen reader and need accessible versions of the materials.

The online program materials and participant guides follow accessibility guidelines and are screen reader compatible. You can request an accessible PDF copy of the PPT slides for your use during the instructor-led classroom sessions.
