Description

As the number of mass shootings rises nationwide so do levels of anxiety, sadness, and frustration. This workshop explores the impacts of mass shootings on our individual and collective mental health and wellbeing, highlighting the effects on adults, children and youth.  Explore a trauma-informed approach and ways to cope with anxiety in this troubling context, including how to speak to children and youth about a problem that is not going away.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize mental health impacts of stress related to violence and mass shootings.
  • Identify signs of anxiety from traumatic events on adults, youth and children.
  • Practice techniques and tools to support anxiety management during events of major stress, such as mass shootings.
