Description

This workshop for first responders helps these professionals to cope with the unique and often stressful or traumatic nature of their jobs. Designed to sensitize employees and people leaders to the topics of mental health and resilience in the workplace, the program helps raise awareness of mental disorders as well as focuses on reducing associated stigma. It also encourages individuals to take responsibility for their own mental health as well as supporting co-workers and providing a safe environment for those needing help.

Structure

Both full-day and half-day programs explore key content areas relevant to First Responder workplaces, including:

  • Mental Health in the Workplace
  • Stigma
  • Responses to Trauma, including PTSD
  • Resilience
  • Providing Support

The full-day version provides additional opportunities to practice, role-play, share knowledge, explore leadership tools and to create an action plan for the team.
