Description

Support diversity and inclusion in your workplace by building employee understanding of ableism and its impact on the workplace: stigma, exclusion, and discrimination against people with disabilities.

In this participatory workshop, employees will identify the impacts of ableist language and behaviour, explore ways to act as an ally to others and advocate for their own needs.

Availability

All of our Learning programs are available in English and French. Local languages may be available for an additional fee.

Objectives

Through this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand general information about disability and the potential of disabled team members
  • Incorporate strategies for active allyship and supporting different learning styles
  • Be a supportive colleague for disabled team members in your work environment
  • Develop a better understanding of how to advocate for yourself within workplace accessibility and accommodations
