  • Employees and People Leaders

Description

The impact of stigma surrounding people with disabilities impacts all aspects of their life. One of the most impacted areas is employment. This workshop is designed to build awareness around the affects of ableism (stigma, exclusion, and discrimination against people with disabilities) and the barriers it can cause in the workplace. While learning to recognize myths surrounding disability and employment, participants will gain resources and language to better support active allyship and to interrupt ableism in action to advocate for inclusion in the workplace

Structure

TELUS Health Learning workshops go beyond awareness and allow participants to practice and engage with the topic. Facilitated in small groups, participants can expect adult education learning activities like small-group discussion, breakout rooms, role-play, scenario-based learning – as well as more standard elements like Q&A, polling, and chat functionality.
