Some job roles require a high-level of empathy, and this is true when dealing with people who experience trauma. We bear witness to this traumatic event through second hand exposure, and consequently are at risk of taking on some of that emotional pain.
The purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with an understanding of what vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue are, how they might show-up in ourselves and others, and how it may impact individuals inside and outside of work.
This session will provide participants with practical strategies to minimise the adverse impact of vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue, as well as work towards building vicarious resilience and compassion satisfaction.
